संपूर्ण सभागृह भारावून गेले होते. ब्रिटिश पंतप्रधान मॅकडोनाल्ड तर डॉ. आंबेडकराचे भाषण ऐकूण थक्कच झाले. उपसंहारात्मक केलेल्या आपल्या भाषणात त्यांनी तसे उघडपणे बोलून दाखविले, परिषदेतील आणखी एंक मोठी व्यक्ती डॉ. आंबेडकरांच्या ह्या भीमपराक्रमाने त्यांच्यावर अमाप खूष झाली. त्या व्यक्तीचे डोळे आनंदाश्रूंनी भरून आले. समाधान, कौतुक व कृतार्थता ह्यांनी हृदय ओसंडू लागले. आपल्या राजवैभवी निवासस्थानी परत जाताच ते आपल्या राणीला म्हणाले, आपले सारे प्रयत्न आणि पैसा ही. सार्थकी लागली. आज एका महत्कार्याची सफलता झालेली पाहिली; यश लाभास आले. डॉ. आंबेडकरांचा हा मोठा चाहता दुसरा तिसरा कोण नसून: ज्या
बडोद्याच्या महाराजांनी आंबेडकरांच्या शिक्षणास सक्रिय साहाय्य. केले होते, तेच बडोद्याच नरेश सयाजीराव गायकवाड होत. डॉ. आंबेडकरांच्या ह्या यशाबद्दल सयाजीराव गायकवाडांनी आपल्या निवडक मित्रांना एक मोठी मेजवानी दिली. अशी ही नियतीची मोठी रोमांचकारक किमया होती की अनेक वर्षांच्या ताटातुटींनंतर या नरेशाची आणि नरवीराची भावना उचंबळून आणण्याच्या अशा एका प्रसंगी गाठ पडावी.
श्रीमंत सयाजीराव महाराजांचे बौद्ध धम्माकडे विशेष..आकर्षण होते. या दृष्टीने त्यांनी केलेल्या कार्याचे वर्णन Dr. A, L. Nair, यांनी आपल्या “The Maharaja’s Love of Buddha’s Teachings” या त्यांच्या ७१ व्या वाढदिवसाप्रित्यर्थ लिहिलेल्या लेखात केले आहे. ते म्हणतात
“दुल्लभो पुरिसो जञ्ञा, न सो सब्बत्थ-जायति
Itis with feelings of admiration, great appreciation and devotion to His Highness that I tender my sincere homage and greatfulness to His Highness on his witnessing the 71st Birth-day. A ruler of a State and in fact a model and all-progressive State has so many and varied calls on his powers of body and mind that in his sincerity of purpose and generous and keen desire to do good to his subjects, he has scarcely and any time left to devote to his health and personal comforts. Itis with the heartfelt blessings and devoted love of his subjects that a ruler lives long, and this fact is most eloquently proved in the case of His Highness. Itison this auspicious occasion that I take the opportunity of expressing my own sentiment and appreciative greatfulness for the service that His Highness has first rendered to the cause of Bhagawan ‘ Buddha on this side of India. I propose, therefore, to do it by emphasising on the great love that the Maharaja entertains towards my Bhagawan.
