बुद्ध धर्मानेच जगाचा उद्धार होणार आहे ४८५
या बौद्ध दीक्षेच्या कार्यक्रमाची संपूर्ण जबाबदारी डॉ. बाबासाहेब आंबेडकरांनी स्थापन केलेल्या भारतीय बौद्धजन समितीच्या नागपूरच्या शाखेवर सोपविण्यात आली होती. त्यानुसार समितीचे चिटणीस वा. मो. गोडबोले यांनी धर्मदीक्षेचा कार्यक्रम यशस्वी होण्याच्या दृष्टीने दिनांक २१ सप्टेंबर १९५६ रोजी समितीच्या वतीने ` पत्रक प्रसिद्ध केले आणि ते भारतातील आंबेडकरी चळवळीतील अनेक लोकांना पाठविले होते. ते पत्रक खालीलप्रमाणे--
‘“ “MASS CONVERSION
Revered Dr. BABASAHEB AMBEDKAR, the Founder and President ofthe Buddhist Society ofIndia—The Bharatiya Bouddha Jana Samiti—shall embrace Buddhism atthe ceremony to be held at Nagpur at 8 a, m. On the Vijaya Dashami Day-Sunday, the 14th October, 1956. Venerable Bhikkhu Chandramani Maha Thera of Burma, now in India, shall perform the ceremony.
People desirous of getting themselves converted shall be able to do so atthe very ceremony, and shall be requiredto wear clean white garments.
APPEAL FOR FUNDS
in this benevolent ceremony the people of India, it is hoped, shall . participate in lacs; and shall render every possible aid to the local Branch of the. Bharatiya Bouddha Jana Samiti to whom the Revered Baba has entrusted the task of managing this great ceremony. While rendering the financial aid the local benevolents shall insist on having receipts of the Samiti concernéd. Outsiders wilt kindly remit money by money order.
Those who want to volunteer themselves to assist the manage- ment of the celebrations shall see the undersigned on or before the 30th September, 1956.
